Please note. Nominations/ CBL allocations are exempt as local authorities are exempt because housing entitlements according to immigration status are covered by other regulations. However, where a housing association makes a new letting from its own register or waiting list they will have to make the checks. Transfers of existing tenants are exempt. If social housing tenants take in lodgers, checks will be required under the scheme”.
