BMENational launches first annual yearbook

Black and minority ethnic (BME) housing association umbrella body BMENational launched its first annual yearbook at the National Housing Federation’s conference last week.

The publication, which features stories of how BMENational’s members have provided valuable support and culturally sensitive housing to their tenants, includes a member directory with contact information for over 60 BME housing associations in England.

Attending the launch in the ICC Birmingham was chair of BMENational, Lara Oyedele, chief executives of member associations and delegates attending the conference.

Richard Sabatowski, managing director of creators Astwood Design Consultancy, said:

“We jumped at the chance to be involved in such a worthwhile project. It was great to see a packed room with a real diverse crowd from all sectors of housing, all giving positive feedback on the publication. A very proud moment for all concerned.”

“It was encouraging to see so many people at the launch reception,” said Lara Oyedele, chair of BMENational. “It is heartening to know that such a varied range of people and organisations support what BMENational is about.”

“Not only a great guide and directory, the yearbook symbolises BMENational’s unity and how we continually work together to improve the lives of our tenants.”
